Is a member of China Writers Association, director of China Poetry Society, and executive editor of "Shanghai Poets" Magazine, who has served as director of the Poetry Professional Committee of Shanghai Writers Association and editor of Supplement of "Jiefang Daily" for years.

Ali Ahmad Said Esber, known to readers as Adonis, was born in a rural village in North Syria in 1930. He graduated with a degree in philosophy from Damascus University and went on to earn a doctoral degree in Arabic literature from St. Joseph University in Beirut.

Born in November 1957 in Yanzhou, Shandong, now dwells in Beijing. After graduation from high school, he became a rural teacher. He joined the army in February, 1976. In 1991, he graduated from the Art Academy of PLA, majoring in literature.
